Furnace Repair & Installation
MyPlumberCA is the leader in furnace repair for the San Diego area. If your furnace is blowing cold air or not blowing it at all, we’re the team to call.
There are five very common causes for furnace problems – thermostat problems, dirty filters, air flow issues, pilot or ignition control failure and poor overall system maintenance. We can diagnose and repair them all.
Thermostat issues are the easiest to fix. The replacement part is cheap and easy to replace. Thermostats can go bad on their own, be damaged by electrical surges or even simply come disconnected from leads at the wire nuts. Whatever the case, we’ll show the issue and either replace the thermostat or repair it fast. If your furnace isn’t working, this is the best-case scenario.
If you aren’t in the habit of changing your air filter every few months, you could run into some serious issues with your furnace. The air filter stops dirt and debris from being pulled into the system by your air handler. When the filter gets clogged, unfiltered air is forced around it. The dirt can build up on your blower motor and cause it to fail, or it could make its way to the burn chamber where it will reduce the efficiency of the burn while creating potentially dangerous combustion fumes. If the air filter is the problem, we’ll replace it and suggest either a furnace cleaning or a full ductwork clean depending on the seriousness of the dirt build-up.
If your furnace isn’t getting the correct amount of air flow, the ratio of gas to air will be off, and the result could be a dangerous build-up of carbon monoxide. We take this quite seriously. Carbon monoxide can kill. Most of the gas will be vented through the plenum, but if there are large amounts, it could leak out around the base of the furnace and dissipate into the home.
Blockages from clogged air filters can be a cause, but a bad blower motor or blockage in the duct system can also have the same type of consequence. Our furnace repair team has carbon monoxide detection equipment on every truck, and we check every home for this deadly gas whenever we do a service.
Pilot Light or Electronic Ignition
Sometimes a pilot light fails or a glow plug burns out. These things do happen. If your furnace isn’t kicking on like it should, there is a good chance this is the problem. If your glow plug has gone bad, it takes about minutes to replace. If your pilot light went out, we’ll check the assembly and clean it out, which takes longer.
In general, all the common furnace problems can be prevented with a yearly maintenance plan. Our preventative maintenance service will ensure you have a warm house when you want it. We can even schedule in quarterly air filter replacement service so you don’t have to bother with it.

New Furnace Installation
If your furnace is out of date or has a severe problem like a cracked heat exchanger, you’ll be better off purchasing a new one. New furnaces are far more efficient than ones made 10 to 15 years ago. Our furnace installation service will help you pick out the correct unit for your home and get it replaced as soon as possible.
You don’t have to have a furnace problem to buy a new one! In fact, most new furnaces will pay for themselves in energy savings in less than 7 years. Not only that, they’ll also provide better air filtration and reduce the number of dangerous chemicals off-gased in the burning process.
